The City of Colombus Recreation and Parks

Camp Carriage Place

about event.

Back again by popular demand! Join Ms. Rekha for a camp that combines art and play. Jump into live action play immersed in worlds created by you. Build your own props and gear, construct cardboard forts, have epic battles and maybe seek lost treasure. There will be group building projects, as well as time to design and create your own characters. Kids will be trained on how to use tools like box cutters, hot glue guns and other tools as necessary, with staff providing assistance. All play will be done outdoors, except in extreme temperatures or heavy rain. All genders welcome! For more information, call 614-645-3715. Please bring a packed lunch, water bottle and plenty of imagination.

The City of Colombus Recreation and Parks.

On July 15, 1910, the City Recreation Department was established to enrich Columbus by finding ways to make streets, alleys, boulevards, parks and public grounds more beautiful. On Jan. 2, 1972, the City Recreation Department merged with the Division of Forestry and Parks to become Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. We have grown from six parks to more than 400 parks on 13,500+ acres, have established 28 community centers, five athletic complexes, six golf courses, 230 miles of regional trails, six spraygrounds and interactive fountains, eight outdoor pools and an indoor aquatics center, 19 nature preserves, three reservoirs, five dog parks, a skate park and a range of programs for toddlers to seniors.
